About Doug

An Upper Dublin High School alumnus and a lifelong resident, Doug is raising his family in this community, and is deeply invested in the well-being of his neighbors. After completing his undergraduate degree at Penn State University and law degree at Drexel University he pursued a career in public service for the people of Montgomery County.  For over a decade he has gained extensive experience in criminal law, becoming intimately familiar with the rules of criminal procedure and evidence while handling thousands of cases between District Court and the Court of Common Pleas. He gained additional experience as  a Montgomery County Arbiter, sitting as fact-finder in dozens of proceedings and deciding on civil matters ranging from automobile accidents, contract disputes, debt collection, and personal injury. As District Judge, he will apply the same principles of fairness and integrity that have earned him respect throughout the legal community.

Having grown up in Upper Dublin, and now raising his family here, Doug knows how tight knit this community is and what the people of Upper Dublin and Ambler need in their District Judge. Since high school, Doug has dedicated his personal and professional life to serving and protecting the community. Doug ran the Community Service section of The Penn State Alumni Association for Montgomery County right after college, and has become deeply involved with Mothers Against Drunk Driving during his career. He has also dedicated the past eight years to serving on the board of directors, and is the current President of the Triangle Club of Montgomery County, a sixty-year-old organization that provides college scholarships to area high schoolers.

TESTIMONIALS

"Doug Lavenberg is firmly committed to the law, upholding justice and ensuring that the right thing is done. I had the privilege to work alongside him for several years as assistant district attorneys. I saw that, day in and day out, he worked doggedly to accomplish justice. As a judge, I am confident he will uphold the same principles for which he has always stood."

Matthew Brittenberg,  Former ADA Montgomery County
